Afghanistan Project

problems

  • The region the project aims to help, experiences, as other regions in Afghanistan, many structural problems. The economy is still not really developing and therefore entrepreneurship needs to be stimulated.

target group

  • The group of girls enrolled at the school of L'Afghan e. V. in Baghlan, Afghanistan.
  • Women and men in Baghlan, Afghanistan, who want to set up their own business.

what to do

  • Providing a supplement to the current education of the school, to introduce the girls to the concept of entrepreneurship.
  • Provide evening classes (in the school) about entrepreneurship (how to e.g. start a business in Baghlan) and financial literacy.

actions

  • Organize a charity event to put a roof on the school, so that both classes and evening classes can take place within a building (currently no roof is present and schooling is outside).
  • Search for experts in The Netherlands that can help set up the supplement educational program (e.g. teachers or chamber of commerce) and evening classes.
  • Contact local businessmen and women, as well as government, in Baghlan, in order to develop, together with them, what the business environment is like.

achievements

  • The brainstorming phase has just ended. This phase led to choices be made as how to approach the problems in Baghlan.

future

  • Due to the difficulties in launching a project in the area, the difficulty of communication and members that were unable to continue with the project, the project is cancelled and will not be launched or continued.
